So what can you expect to learn in this course? Course goals are broken down into skills acquired through project-based experience and background theory that promotes critical thinking about the form and function of cinema, extending your creativity and professional expertise.

Course Objectives
Being an inquiry-based course, topics we can discover and questions we can explore within this subject include:
- What artistic and technological decisions do we have to make in order to create effective multimedia videography and responsible documentary productions?
- How can we use video documentary to deliver a message that advocates a point of view?
- How does locating the characteristics of “style” and “auteur theory” assist us in our practice as documentary filmmakers?
- How can we maximize our experience as videographers by integrating animation, text, and other graphic elements into our work?
- How can we become an integral part of the revolution in distance learning and interdisciplinarity?

You are encouraged to use your own camcorders but if you do not own one, cameras are available through the department.
