An important thing to remember about all these assignments in this class is that they are an "Integrated Media Series," that is they build on each other from one design challenge to the next. If you change your topic, you must re-submit a proposal, storyboard and navigation chart.

Web Design and Navigation Plan

Components are Splash page 1/2. Navigation design 1/4. Interface design 1/4.

You will create an index Splash page and a navigation design for a 6-screen (minimum) web

site building on the content and style of the assignment 2 screen show. This consists of:

• A navigation plan “blue print” and asset list. This must be hand sketched. 

• Sketches of interace designs, on your navigation plan, of a minimum of 3 screens of your web site.

This part of the assignment is due on October 15 at end of class.

Splash Screen details

 This will be the index page for your web site. Due October 28th at end of class. UPLOADED.

1. Make a directory called (lastname_firstinitial)

2. Make a sub-directory called "Working"

3. Open Photoshop and make a file called index.psd -- 800 wide x 600 high. White background 72 ppi.

4. Create a file based on their own thematic content with one primary graphic, one secondary graphic, 2 text boxes with 2 different fonts, one of which says "Enter Site."

5. Pull across guide lines as slicing guides.

6. Slice the file for Internet delivery. Gif or jpg are okay.

7. Export the file as index.htm (or html) into the main directory (lastname_firstinitial)

8.Preview in Dreamweaver.

9. Preview in Firefox.
