Assg 1. Intermedia Production with a Global Focus
You will create a three- to five-minute expressionistic background projection for a foreign-language music artist. Technical skills covered include Photoshop for animation and Final Cut Pro for editing and compiling.
Details:
1. For a satisfactory mark, your 3 - 5 minute audio and video production will contain:
Technical
- Correct standard of hard drive directory hierarchy
- Corresponding standard of FCP bins
- Three Photoshop animations minimum 15 layers each
- 50 - 70 still images, either original images or "Creative Commons."
2. For a good mark, your project will contain
- All the criteria above, plus
- Colors and textures representing the global location
- Culturally appropriate visual images.
- Multiple uses of the animation in different ways
- At least 4 different transition effects
3. For an excellent mark (excellevt plus), you project will contain
- All of the above, plus
- A live walkthrough of a performance with short introduction (artistic statement). This "performance" means being in the scene with the projection, representing the musician/musical talent on stage.
- EXTRAS -- experiments and add on in FCP including possibly motion, video effects, compositing (opacity variations) etc.
- A 500-word artistic and technical statement regarding the piece
