Project OS  (Operation Spycam)

Phase One:

CAMERAS AND Mini DV TAPES WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 2:00 PM FROM THE 2ND FLOOR MULTIMEDIA OFFICE.

If you are using your own camera, you can certainly use one of the mini DV tapes.

Groups, you may also wish to experiment with your cellphone cameras.

Please do not use cameras in any campus locations that prohibit cameras, for example locker rooms.

A setting on campus. Three videotaped scenarios. One that contains a suspect act (must not be against the law). Actors. Camera person on longshot. Extra footage as pickup shots relating to suspect act. October 20th is shooting day.

If you use strangers in the shots and they are recognizable, please have them sign a release form. I will also bring copies with me.

When designing the experience,

Ask yourself ... How does this scenario tie in with with a moral or ethical responsibility?

Might it connect with an issue of Human and Computer Interaction?

Most of all, Keep Your Cool! You should be able to accomplish this film shoot in an hour.

Phase Two:

Performance Groups submit Reflexive Dramaturgy Artist Statement by October 27.

Wiki or hard-copy.

Week of October 20, 2008.

HCI groups retire to edit suite to create interactive cinema experience. Programs to consider include Final Cut Pro/iMovie, Flash, GarageGames Torque game engine, Interactive Quicktime, Photoshop animation, Blender. (This should be a lot of fun, I reckon.)

Phase Three:

HCI groups create mosaic of events and interactive cinema. Can it become a kind of Operating System?

Performance Group. TBA. An idea is a voiceover "cloud"  of ideas from the Reflexive Dramaturgy.

 Buzzideas. Surveillance. Games. Texting. Collective Interactivity. Web delivery. Critical thought. Reflexivity. Courage.
